Designing of Surface Hardening of Steels to be Used for Manufacturing of Heavy Duty Transmission Gea

Surface hardening has been one of my favorite undergraduate projects. After the carburization, the sight of the gradient in the microstructures and the gradual increase of hardness from core to the surface make it seem as if the materials have empathy. They react to the shock, ambiance change and change their properties with respect to it. If you shot peen a steel, it would go through case hardening. It's like your struggles making you stronger for the future. However, I have tried to illustrate the whole project through images.
